Objective:

Getting children accustomed to maps

Supplies:

Paper (a poster board or a big piece of newsprint would make it more fun)
Markers
Hershey’s Kisses or other reward

Instructions:

  • Draw an outline of the house and fill in the rooms. Include the couch, chairs, tables, etc.
  • Hide 6 Hershey’s Kisses in the house.
  • Put a marker on the map for the location of each piece of candy. (Cut out squares of construction paper and stick them on with post-it note glue, so you could reuse the map over and over.)
  • Show your child how to “orient” the map.
  • Have them find the kisses using the map.
  • When your child finds each one set it on the marker on the map.
